Humble Khichdi to Become National Food?

We are not talking about the famous serial - Khichdi. It is about our home-cooked humble Khichdi which is one of the first solid food for babies. The History During the 1600s, French traveler Jea-Baptistie Travernier cam to India six times and noticed Khichdi being prepared with green lentils, rice and ghee; and referred to it as a peasant's evening meal. The Mughal took the classic, simple Khichdi from the streets and gave it a gourmet appeal for the royals by adding some strong spices, dry fruits and nuts. Karwa Chauth - 08-10-2017

The Sanskrit word of fasting is ' Upavaasa '. ' Upa'  means to be near and 'V aasa ' means to reside.. To try and be as close to God as possible. I usually don't fast. Nor do I observe particular days of the week or month as Vrat. But, I have always wondered why do only women's keep Vrat. And on this Karwa Chauth I was answered, YES my FIRST Karwa Chauth. What is Karwa Chauth? The significance of this day, It falls on the 4th day of the Kartik month every year. On this day it is customary for the wife to fast the whole day. She does not drink water either. She paints her hands and feet with henna, dresses generally in red apparel and on her hair parting she smears vermilion powder. There are legends associated with the Karwa Chauth festival. In some tellings, the tales are interlinked and some are frame story for another.
