Achhe Din

Achhe din aane waale hai (Good days are coming) was the hindi slogan of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for 2014 Indian general election. It was coined by the BJP's Prime Minister candidate Narendra Modi, with the intention for the prosperous future for Inida. Here is a short story by VijayLaxmi that proves achhe din are still on. It was the day from the 11th month of calendar, day 9th - yes 9th of Nov 2018 when Vijaylaxmi boarded the Humsafar Express from Pune. She was travelling back to Vadodara. After a couple hours of journey, Vijaylaxmi realized that the AC vent above her seat wasn't working. She immediately sent a complaint through as SMS to the complaint cell number of Railways. She quoted her PNR number in the SMS. Within a minute she received acknowledgement and an OTP. The attendant came to her seat in 5 minutes. He immediately attended to the problem and asked her the OTP of the problem Vijaylaxmi had faced. She received another SMS asking if the problem was

Sundog - The Pleasant Quietude

Sundog My biggest question - Do you wake up early? If you don't, and usually wake up late, try waking up and getting up early in the morning for several days. When I say to wake up, it's not just wake up, but get out of your bed, wash your face and take a warm shower, you will feel energized. One can discover early morning hours are so peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. There is a magical and pleasant quietude. No loud noise, no yelling and no errands to run. No one to disturb or distract you. One can choose to meditate, take a walk, read or write, or anything one can enjoy the piece before starting their day. In the pen name of T ammanna. 28th Nov, 2018 was a beautiful morning when Tamanna felt the cool winter breeze touching her soft cheeks and blowing right through her hair. Standing tall in her room's balcony she praised the morning beauty, its silence, sound of chirping birds, and the color changing sky - from dark shade it was turning to orange and the

Slave to that Roster

Its a tough life, Shift workers are more likely to be fat lazy panda who can sleep any time. Boo. Being a shift worker is tough enough. The painful truths only a shift worker knows. There is nothing called like a WEEKEND Unfortunately, for an unlucky section of us working in shift, that Friday feels are nonexistent and there are no Saturday lie in. Making plans with your regular working hours, trying to find pace to celebrate the outing is impossible. It is better to tell you month in advance to plan going out, so that you can make a rota request. While everyone was working weekdays you were feeling alone and undisturbed of odd off. And when everyone is partying, you'r working on weekends. Forgetting the week Then there's how you forget what day or week it is. It's normal people's Friday, but you started the week on Saturday before. So brain thinks its Sunday. What is life? My life right now is like that Rihanna song ... work work work work w

Pani Puri - The Major Crackdown

The common street snack and every Indian girls favorite mouth watering PANIPURI popularly known in Maharashta, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh... Also known as PHUCKAS in Eastern Indian States like Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal, Known as PANI KE PATASHE in Haryana, GOL GAPPE in New Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, GUPCHUP in Oddisa, Hydrabad  What's monsoon without the chai pakora or snacking something tangy and spicy, right? However it is hazardous to health eating street food in mosoon. Keeping this in mind Vadodara Muncipal Corporation (VMC) in Gujarat conduction surprise raid on pani puri vendors. And to pani puri lovers surprise VMC has decided to temporarily ban the chereished desi street-food for the rainy season. Many cases of diarrhea and vomiting have been reported in past few days. An Excursion on NH-8

PC: Gajendra I have always heard and read about exclusive rides on Hardly davidson or Bullets who navigate through Google Maps or by asking locals. These bikers ride to remote places or can say to the stunningly beautiful places on this earth. However, this post is not about such Grand Tour, but a short ride which we (me and my better half) covered from Vadodara to Bharuch on NH-8. Though we did not get to experience the famous road, small roads, smooth roads, flowing roads... But riding on National Highway on a two wheeler was a whole new experience. This journey took on 6th of June 2018 to cover a distance of 70 kms. We both set off on Dio Honda at 16:30 from Vadodara. On reaching the highway, ignoring the trucks and cars overtaking us one by one, we were enjoying the ride. It was monsoon season and your cannot ignore the natures beauty especially when you are driving a two wheeler which is way better than a four wheeler. When the lady is accompanying, Man allows h
