Mumbai Local - Squeezing in and out!

Railways are lifeline of India and Mumbai lives and breaths by its local trains. Mumbai's all day and night bubbling buzzing life is quite unimaginable without the local trains in Metropolis. While traveling in Mumbai one should experience the veins of the city - "Mumbai Local Train". They link every nook and corner and are always jam packed with busy mumbaikars. I have been to Mumbai many times but never got the opportunity to try Mumbai Local. On my recent trip to Mumbai, I ended up experiencing this mode. People from all walks can be seen in the local trains. Humble Khichdi to Become National Food?

We are not talking about the famous serial - Khichdi. It is about our home-cooked humble Khichdi which is one of the first solid food for babies. The History During the 1600s, French traveler Jea-Baptistie Travernier cam to India six times and noticed Khichdi being prepared with green lentils, rice and ghee; and referred to it as a peasant's evening meal. The Mughal took the classic, simple Khichdi from the streets and gave it a gourmet appeal for the royals by adding some strong spices, dry fruits and nuts.
