What's monsoon without the chai pakora or snacking something tangy and spicy, right? However it is hazardous to health eating street food in mosoon. Keeping this in mind Vadodara Muncipal Corporation (VMC) in Gujarat conduction surprise raid on pani puri vendors. And to pani puri lovers surprise VMC has decided to temporarily ban the chereished desi street-food for the rainy season.
Many cases of diarrhea and vomiting have been reported in past few days. The team of food and safety department have been deployed for this task. The VMC has so far raided at 50 manufacturers across the town and threw away 4,000 kg of puris, 3,500 kgs od potatoes and 1,200 liters of acidic water according to the reports. In most cases these items were spoilt due to being stored for long or simply of poor quality.
After several raids in different cities of Gujarat - Surat, Rajkot, Ahmedabad and Vadodara, VMC declared there will be no ban on the food item, but would continue to check and monitor the quality of food, water and beverages being served by the vendors and other restaurants.
